The Death of the Race Card

Everything that has a beginning has an end...

In Washington these days, every time someone stands up to tell the bald truth they are at risk of being called a Racist. "You lie!" racist. "Obamacare will kill off medical care as we know it!" racist. "Congressman Rangel has been cheating on his taxes for years - and he writes the tax code!" you racist!

Emotional fatigue. That will deal most of this political correctness the death blow. Yes, the death of all forms of political correctness will take some time. We are witnessing the beginning stages.

Every word has a well of emotion attached to it. Use it too much, and the word goes from Wired to Tired to Expired. What will the liberals do when this racist six-shooter has no more bullets?

I believe in the American people. However, aside from all their strengths, Americans are too willing to entertain fools and even those who walk up and slap them in the face. But not forever.

The American people are waking up to the lies they have been told. Global warming... peak oil... government-generated statistics... taxation... the list goes on and on. That's good and a sign we are growing up and putting childish things behind us.

I used to work in a government bureaucracy and every year they marched us into "workplace relations" training for two hours. I remember coming out of one - the message between the lines was that if you were white, you were naturally a racist. That really torqued me off. A fellow captain said quietly, "That was really revealing!" - and sure enough, it was.

Every year thereafter I would expose the workplace relations briefer as a racist - for example, I would uplift Condi Rice. For a brief moment in time, the briefer showed intense hatred of this "sellout". It was plain as day to everyone. The other workers began to jump in and verbally shred most of the points presented in the briefing. I sat in the back with a smirk. Mission accomplished.

Like I said, I believe in the American people. It has been said before that there are two types of Americans: those who believe in the common sense of the American people, and those who constantly defer to those in authority, the elite.

So don't worry. The stock of Political Correctness is going down. Common sense is going up.

When you see silly things like this, know well the end is nigh:

Radical Honesty

Insincerity is the lubricant of social intercourse

We've all heard about the latest VP F-Bomb. Cheney did it a few year ago on the senate floor when he told Senator Leahy what he could do with himself. Last week Palooka Joe used the f-word to tell his friends to lighten up and drop all that formal "Mr. Vice President" crap. Say what you want about VP Biden, but you can't call him insincere. He's radically honest.

Wikihow explains radical honesty and how to practice it in your everyday life. Included are little anecdotes from real people who have tried it. It can be liberating, but it can also screw stuff up.

I think if we all did this, society as we know it would break down, so I'm agin' it. Little white lies are the Elmer's Glue that holds friendships and families together.

Think I'm exaggerating? Consider this question: "Honey, does this make my butt look fat?"

I would, however, love to see radical honesty practiced by our government. They could start by using the same accounting rules they foist upon private enterprise.

Here are the WikiHow steps to recovery for our mendacious politicians and bureaucrats:

1.
Observe yourself lying. This is easy: C-SPAN, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC... There is a virtual liars library at our fingertips. Politicians have left an odoriferous trail of electronic BS a thousand miles long.

2.
Think deeply about whether you're really doing anyone a favor by lying. This step won't work. The average politician obviously doesn't think too deeply. If they were to think, they would realize yes, they are doing themselves a favor by lying. It gets them reelected.

3.
Confess. This won't work either. A politician never confesses until he's caught like a trapped rat with no way out.

4.
Uncensor yourself. This only works for people who are not self-delusional and thus have not fallen for their own BS. Also, today's "gotcha" culture guarantees that no politician this side of VP Joe Biden will throw away the scripts and talking points.

5.
Inject the honesty with humor. Ever heard of a funny politician, other than VP Biden? Won't work.

6.
Take off the edge. Avoid breaking hearts, crushing dreams, or hurting feelings. Politicians are great at this. How else do you explain their ability to jack stuff up and then get reelected promising to fix it?

7.
Brace yourself for return fire. ...if you're a conservative. The press will be firing every cannon. If you're a liberal, Huff and Puff Po and the Daily 'Caus will fire at you for not being liberal enough. If you're VP Biden, nobody will fire at you. Victor Davis Hansen calls it Biden's Law: "If one makes enough gaffes, they soon reach a point that none of them matter."

8. Know where to draw the line. This won't work either. Politicians don't know how to draw lines, unless it's to circumscribe our rights. They draw no lines when it comes to budgets, and they pile lie upon fantasies at a pace that would make Pinocchio blush.

So the only politician actively practicing this now is the Vice President. Take that for what it's worth...

Axis of Weasels: Washington & Wall Street

What ever happened to responsibility and accountability? Or even good old fashioned shame, for that matter?

Thousands died in a terrorist attack on our country and nobody got fired. Now hundreds of billions of dollars have been flushed down, and nobody gets fired. Instead, we call together the greedy pigs and candyman congressmen who caused it to formulate a plan that will reload Wall Street's vaults with my money.

And the Wall Street welfare queens and bleeding heart politicians who screwed us express no remorse whatsoever. OJ Simpson at least vowed to find the killers...

Anyway, what kind of a financial crisis is this when not even one banker has thrown himself out of a 20 story window? It should be raining remorseful, failed Wall Street Wizards right now.

I listened to the President's speech, and there was one thing missing. Here's what he should have said at the end:
"Now, to help pay for this, as well as to thin the investment banker herd, I'm announcing the federal government will be selling game tags for $1,000 a piece. That's right, for a thousand bucks you can take dead aim on the rich. Now I know some of you boys down in Alabama don't have that kind of money, so we're allowing team hunting. You can pool your money...
OK, so that's going overboard... But I'm mad and I want accountability!

I want to see investment banker heads on pike poles like in the movie Braveheart. I want mountains of Wall Street Wanker skulls piled up like in the days of Tamerlane and Samarkand. I want to see these pseudo-capitalists running down the street chased by angry mobs bearing torches and pitchforks. I want blood...

Limiting executive pay is not enough, not by a long shot dammit! These arrogant bastards need to put some skin in the game: Sell that vacation home, the extra cars, melt down the silver, hock the jewelry... I want to see these greedy weasels squirm. On top of that, the government should only hand over half of what they need. If they're so damned smart they can figure out the rest on their own.

Of course, none of that will happen. We demand nothing of our leaders, so we receive nothing. Harry and the Pelosicrats are planning to cut you another $600 check, though. That should shut us up for awhile, and the World Series is coming up...

How Are You Going To Pay For It, Senator?

How are you going to pay for it?

That should be the first words out of any reporter or citizen’s mouth upon hearing any proposal from any politician. They sure are the first words out of a wife’s mouth when hubby comes home and announces he’s buying a new bass boat.

Responsible people make financial decisions based upon a budget and try not to spend money they don’t have. We should demand the same from our elected officials.

We are in debt, big time. CBS interviewed the Comptroller General of the United States last year, and he didn’t paint a rosy picture of our fiscal future. And that was before the Wall Street welfare queens disguised as brave capitalists got drunk on greed and wrecked the nation's financial engine.

An awesome place to educate yourself is at http://www.federalbudget.com We are facing a fiscal crisis but the Washington candyman keeps offering us more. Quote from the we site:
In Fiscal Year 2006, the U. S. Government spent $406 Billion of your money on interest payments to the holders of the National Debt. Compare that to NASA at $15 Billion, Education at $61 Billion, and Department of Transportation at $56 Billion.
Election season is here. Candidates should be arguing over who will reduce this debt and how. Instead they continue offering us goodies. Here's my only question to the candidates:

How are you going to pay for it?

Pope Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi, who understands Catholic teaching better than the Pope, assured Tom Brokaw this weekend that her pro-abortion beliefs in no way conflict with her religion. She's wrong. The Catholic position? Abortion a sin.

Pelosi, the Kennedys, Biden, and every other pro-abotion Catholic politicians oppose their church. And don't give me that "I'm not pro-abortion, I'm pro-choice" argument. You're either for it or you're against it!

Pro-abortion Catholic politicians are arrogance personified. And not for opposing their church, but for the weasel way they do it. If you're going to oppose your church's tenets, fine. This isn't the dark ages. But at least defend your position on it merits. Don't try to twist a 2000 year old belief held by billions of people.

The Pope, at 80 years old and with decades of theological study under his belt is wrong. Those great religious thinkers Pope Pelosi and Monsignor Kennedy are right. Oh, also, every printed word going back to early Christian writing of the second century? They're all wrong too. Pope Pelosi said so.

And they dare call President Bush arrogant?

Hot Air has a short, meticulously researched post on the issue. Please go read it if you want to see just how wrong Madam Speaker is on this issue.

Naked Workers of the World: Clothe Yourselves!

“Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.”

-- Mark Twain

Today is May Day. In much of Europe and Latin America, today is Labor Day.

It’s campaign season, so we’re hearing about the masses of people living in inner-city poverty because there are no jobs, or those left jobless because the factory shut down, etc. Those of us who suggest the unemployed move to where the jobs are or go get some training are shouted down either as uncaring or naively simplistic.

Here’s a question: What would your chances of getting hired be if you showed up to the job interview naked? Probably not too good. OK, how about if you presented yourself wearing a 17th Century pilgrim outfit? You know, the big wide-brim hat with a large buckle in the front, poofy-sleeved shirt, wide black belt with a big buckle, leather breeches, square shoes with, well, a buckle. You’d probably be higher on the list than the naked guy, but your chances of landing that job would still be quite slim.

Well, we have a lot of naked people looking for work in this country. And we have people in pilgrim’s costumes, women wearing Victorian era dresses with the thousand buttons down the front, men in tight-fitting 70’s disco garb… Times change, and if you want to stay employed you must change with them. The COBOL programmer has gone the way of the wheelwright and the candlestick maker. Detroit used to be a boomtown, but it ain’t one no more, and thousands have voted with their feet.

If you are a displaced worker and you’re waiting for Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama or John McCain to help you, you’re going to be waiting a long, long time. Politicians win elections by making promises to people like you, but have you noticed that there are always people like you? And they’re still waiting. The ones who have escaped the ranks of the unemployed are the ones who took the initiative to move, update their job skills, or both. It really is that simple. The only thing easier is walking around naked all day.
