We all know the standard boilerplate answers:  They're bravely doing the right thing for the public, gotta keep the nutroot base happy, etc.

A democratic operative offered a surprisingly candid answer:

"They're in the bank, they've got their guns out. They can run outside with no money, or they can stick it out, go through the gunfight, and get away with the money."

Stupak Amendment Means Nothing

Fellow pro-lifers have been sending e-mails celebrating the passage of the stupak amendment.  I'm not sharing in the celebration.  That amendment is nothing but a small fig leaf for the cowering blue dogs.  Their lack of testicular fortitude makes it apparent that it only takes a small one to cover them.

Note the language in this excerpt from the NY Times.  The Stupak Amendment imposes "tight restrictions."  It does not ban federal money from funding abortions. The loopholes are big enough to drive a herd of buffaloes through.

To save the health care bill she (Pelosi) had to give in to abortion opponents in her party and allow them to propose tight restrictions barring any insurance plan that is purchased with government subsidies from covering abortions.

Pelosi and her fellow liberal bloodsuckers will have their free abortions, either through federal funding of planned parenthood, the giant Stupak loopholes, whatever. 

But Ms. DeGette, Ms. DeLauro and other defenders of abortion rights said they would nonetheless vote in favor of the health care bill and fight for changes in the final version, to be negotiated with the Senate.

I don't believe these lying bastards for a second.  
And if you do, you haven't been paying attention.  A plague of liberals has been unleashed upon the nation, and they will destroy everything in their path.

So Congressional Democrats are mad about a CIA plan to assassinate Al Qaida leaders. Never mind the plan was never actually implemented. Darth Cheney was behind it, and that's all the sniveling pissants on the left need to know.

This is a cover for Pelosi's lies about not being briefed about waterboarding. She can't climb down from that one, so they find a new controversy to distract the proletariate...

Meanwhile, one of the president's teleprompters collapsed from exhaustion.

Good thing there's no real news going on...

Pelosi Galore

Nancy Pelosi is an ignorant woman. She ended up in congress because she is unqualified for any other job. First she lectured the Pope and the US Bishops on church doctrine concerning abortion, and now she calls an assembled group of illegal aliens "Very, very patriotic."

In Pelosi's America, the unpatriotic ones are the American defenders of the law who track down illegal aliens so they can be deported. "Un-American" is how she described them. The Obama administration, in partnership with racist Hispanic agitator gangs, are investigating Sheriff Joe Arpaio for enforcing the law. See how things work in a Democratic-run America?

The dumbest person to ever wield the speaker's gavel also blurted this out:

"Who in this country would not want to change a policy of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and sending a parent away from their families?"

Kicking in doors? The last time I remember that happening was when President Clinton and Janet Reno ordered Elian Gonzalez to be dragged back to Fidel Castro's Communist gulag after his mom died getting him here.

She ignores that old saying, "The family that gets deported together stays together." My government is not responsible for family separation when Mama gets deported and Daddy and the kids decide to stay in the US.

The citizenry of a democracy get the government they deserve. Wake up America, before there's no America left to wake up to.

Pope Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi, who understands Catholic teaching better than the Pope, assured Tom Brokaw this weekend that her pro-abortion beliefs in no way conflict with her religion. She's wrong. The Catholic position? Abortion a sin.

Pelosi, the Kennedys, Biden, and every other pro-abotion Catholic politicians oppose their church. And don't give me that "I'm not pro-abortion, I'm pro-choice" argument. You're either for it or you're against it!

Pro-abortion Catholic politicians are arrogance personified. And not for opposing their church, but for the weasel way they do it. If you're going to oppose your church's tenets, fine. This isn't the dark ages. But at least defend your position on it merits. Don't try to twist a 2000 year old belief held by billions of people.

The Pope, at 80 years old and with decades of theological study under his belt is wrong. Those great religious thinkers Pope Pelosi and Monsignor Kennedy are right. Oh, also, every printed word going back to early Christian writing of the second century? They're all wrong too. Pope Pelosi said so.

And they dare call President Bush arrogant?

Obama & Pelosi: Political Godlings

Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama are intelligent, hardworking politicians with boundless self-esteem. Uber-achievers that they are, they've abandoned pedestrian political dreams and instead are grasping at divinity:


Here's a Speaker Pelosi quote from Politico:

“I’m trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet,” she says impatiently when questioned. “I will not have this debate trivialized by their excuse for their failed policy.”

Here is a Senator Obama's quote upon his winning the nomination:

"I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal"

Does anyone remember a time, not so long ago, when such delusions of grandeur would be laughed off the public stage? What has happened to our politics, and what has happened to us as a nation when politicians can make such grandiose, messiah-complex statements and we just shrug it off? Especially given government's trail of bureaucratic failures and broken dreams.

Next year's projected budget deficit is almost a half-trillion dollars and the federal debt is approaching 10 trillion. We're sitting on natural resources that would bolster our economy while simultaneously allowing us to tell the petro-crooks to shove it while goring their cash cow in the process.

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi, a pro-abortion Catholic, is channeling Jesus while Obama plays Moses parting the Red Sea.

Hey, Nancy and Barack! Wanna play God? You can start a little closer to the ground by taming the government spending tempests and healing our energy woes with some unrestricted oil drilling.

Leave the world-saving and ocean lowering to God... or Poseidon.

I Was Wrong About the Blue Dogs

Dems Insult General Petraeus

Effete San Francisco millionaire Speaker Pelosi, from her luxurious confines, warns American Hero General Petraeus, on his third year in Iraq, not to sugarcoat the Iraq situation.

This is an insult to General Petraeus. Military officers must be apolitical. There are exceptions, but this officer has not been one of them. To suggest he has been anything but straightforward and apolitical is an insult. Speaker Pelosi is using a political non-player (who also happens to be an American hero) to put political spin on a foreign policy issue. I guess it’s all she’s got left… Americans may be unhappy with Iraq, but seeing a hero have his integrity questioned for political gain doesn’t make them happier. Look at you poll number, madam speaker, and then look in the mirror.
