Love is Stubborn

I love it when women sing about their less-than-perfect men!  Maybe it reminds me of something. Hmmm... No, Mrs. Silverfiddle doesn't sing.

Saint Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 13 that...
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love is also stubborn.  Who else besides a spouse would put up with us?

Tracy Ullman is a creative genius.  I love this video from the 80's.  It is kitschy, heartwarming, funny and brilliant...

Nice threads that Tracy's love interest wears, I'd kill for that gold shirt.

And what could be more romantic than the bowling alley setting, ahhhhh.

Yeah, Tracy was great back in the day, wasn't her show responsible for the birth of 'The Simpsons?'

Wait a minute, are you guys telling me those shirts are out of style? No wonder I can't find a mate.

Yep, your choice of verse is one to emulate. I ain't there yet but "fighting the good fight" takes some of us longer than others.

Thanks for taking me back to a time when politics did not dominate the songs we loved.

Damn...me with The Fixx, you with Ullman ... are we subconsciously saying that the '80s were a better time for America? You bet your sweet as we are.

Well said Snarky. Got one from the 80's up on my blog as well. Must be something in the air.

For the record, I think the 1980s was the worst musical decade in the entire history of recorded music, but there were a few bright spots. I was never happier than when grunge came along and restored real music to its rightful place.

Wow Silverfiddle, really? To me the ONLY thing bad about the 80's music was the creation of rap.

Other than that it was fantastic. Country music blossomed,Heavy Metal owned the 80's,pop music had never been better and alternative music was wayyy ahead of it's time.

I have noticed alot of newer bands of today going retro to the 80's in their sound as well.
