Obama Grants INTERPOL Immunity

I am not an alarmist, but I find President Obama's amendment of Reagans 1983 Executive Order 12425 alarming.  It's not just the act itself, but the way in which they did it.  There's a lot of alarmism over this, but when sane people like Andrew McCarthy at NRO start ringing alarm bells, I pay attention.

Is Obama Surrendering US Sovereignty to International Organizations?
Why would he exempt INTERPOL from the constitutional controls that bind all US law enforcement agencies?

Why do it right before Christmas, with no announcement and no explanation?

Could this have to do with subjecting our soldiers and intelligence personnel to International Criminal Court jurisdiction?  Obama's action could have that affect, since it grants broad immunities to INTERPOL, the international law enforcement arm that works closely with the ICC.

Or is this Kook Bait?
Jake Tapper, one of the last real reporters left in America, gives it to us straight:

Experts say there are about 75 organizations in the US covered by the International Organizations Immunities Act -- including the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the International Monetary Fund, the International Committee of the Red Cross, even the International Pacific Halibut Commission and Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission.

Though clearly the Executive Order does prohibit US law enforcement from searching and seizing INTERPOL records, officials say, those provisions can be waived by the president if need be.

So, What's The Meaning of This?
I haven't made up my mind, but I'm leaning towards kook bait.  Remember how Clinton was going to allow the UN to set up bases here in the US?  I believe Obama, like Clinton, purposely leaves things like this hanging out with no explanation just to get the rightwingers all in a lather.

But we still need to keep a close eye on the Chicago-DC Crime Syndicate...

Silver, I understand your apprehension as to jumping to conclusions but this is the first socialist leader this country has had.

He puts more "faith" in the U.N. and the E.U. than our own Constitution and sovereignty, so this move is a natural for him but dare say not us.

I am not a huge fan of G.W.Bush and am a HUGE fan od Dick Cheney but either way this makes it easier to arrest them ON OUR SOIL both should Europeans press trumped-up charges.

Oh, I'm not defending Obama, just trying to put this into perspective. We've granted INTERPOL the same immunity the UN and over 70 other international organizations already enjoy.

I also do not discount ulterior motives, including INTERPOL snatch and grabs.

Wouldn't that be ironic, since we've been criticized for basically the same thing?

I heard this, and it's pure Marxism to the bone.
