Demonizing Constitutionalists in the Military

Every year those of us in the military get herded into a large room and then preached to about "Workplace Relations". I simultaneously hate and yet look forward to these meetings. Hate, because it takes time out of my valuable workday. Love, because I can skewer these politically correct freaks in uniform in front of their peers.

This year's theme was - you guessed it - extremist conservatives!

The briefer took heavily from Morris Dee's Southern Poverty Law Center materials to show neo-nazis behind every bush... then dipped her brush in that and began to paint constitutionalists and conservatives with broad strokes.

The message between the lines was that if you actively participated in conservative / constitutional groups your supervisor might watch you like a hawk.

No mention of La Raza, or of extremist Muslim groups (didn't a couple of those guys go unhinged recently, one on a military base??!!)

This isn't the first time the Administration has painted protesters as enemies. Last year the military Counter-Terrorism training had protesters as possible enemies. Let's see, who were the major protesters last year? Tea Parties, anyone?

The Southern Poverty Law Center has about as much truth as ITAR-Pravda, and so I confronted the briefer on her source of the data. You should have seen the anger in this poor E-6. It was like I told her a joke about the Virgin Mary in church.

What happened next gives me hope about our Republic. Several military members chimed in, bringing up "So you are talking about racist organizations - where's La Raza in your slides?" And sarcastically, "What about George Washington - that terrorist!"

In Eastern Europe the Communists didn't take all the dissenters and load them up to Siberia. They were a bit more subtle, having learned from the mass purges in Russia years before.

The Marxists had community organizers that hosted local talk-groups (much like workplace relations) where the crowd was salted with loyal Communists. The whole idea was to present the feeling that everyone was on board with the progressive changes which were happening, so that those who would normally speak up were left to feel they were the only ones in the meeting who disagreed - and therefore did not speak up.

I kick that in the crotch every time I go to these meetings and encourage you to do as well. Be a stand-up American!

One has to wonder just how many Patriots remain in the ranks of the military hearing of such 'talks'?

Do not misunderstand,I fully support our military but i do hope those hearing these 'talks' understand the groups they are being 'warned against' include in many cases THEIR OWN FAMILY MEMBERS.

Hugh,

First, thanks for your service to our Nation. Truly.

Second, I remember getting briefings once a month on "sexual harassment" while in the military. The funny part is, however, that I was in an all-male MOS. No women allowed. Speaking to us about sexual harassment was about as intelligent as telling us to not shower with power tools.

Christopher hit it on the head by noting that it will be Family Members who are being talked about as being threatening. Can you imagine that? Can you imagine being there and someone saying essentially that your family should be considered a risk to National Security?

The worst thing to happen to Combat Arms and the military in general is the steady and sure invasion of "political correctness" therein. Such a shame.

Long Live the Republic.

ps: My word verification was "pimpold". Hey, I have never been a pimp, thank you very much.

Thank you for your service at the point of the spear.

Political correctness has massively distorted our military. Instead of having one standard for each MOS/AFSC, they have two. I believe that had bearing on the decision to issue soldiers smaller calibers, like the M9. I'll take a .45 any day, thanks.

Of course they say that you can carry more .223 - but a .308 or .3006 will put the bad guy down in one shot. The M14 is too heavy it seems for some...

Chris: I agree that they are trying to groom a military of squealers. From the conversations I've had, about a third hold to the Constitution, a third would do anything they are ordered to do, and a third are on the fence. Things could be worse.

That was a great post - thanks. Reminds me - a little - of a large auditorium at RMA Sandhurst; the assembled recruits were addressed by the Commandant, replete with riding boots, jodhpurs and crop, on the danger of 'domestic terrorists' and 'protesters'. He felt we might have to take action, but then again the terrorists were communists, so I'd say he had a point. Well, it never happened, we just elected them into power and they disbanded the regiments.

LSP: All I can say is wow... What a sobering comment.

And, wow again. You went to Sandhurst? I'm impressed!

My military career wasn't very distinguished... ended up opting for the priesthood. But I'll spare you the life story!

Regardless, LSP, you're alright in my book.

What you posted about, along with the "Sensitivity Training" mandated by many places of employment, are nothing more then commie brain washing sessions.

Those who lack the courage to stand up and speak their mind are lost souls and I don't hold out any hope for them.

Bravo! Great post.
I like that you used the word "herd" first thing and labeled the post as "brainwash."

This post is relevant not only in politics and military but in the progress of science. The general public is not aware of discoveries in science because a lot of controversial evidence (yet still valid and reputable) is hushed because it is not "politically correct" (in other words it contradicts accepted “World View”). Scientific progress is inhibited due to “suppression of evidence” and “knowledge filter” used in peer review for scientists.

This limits the free enquiry by promoting the "herd instinct" that stifles progress and has been a disaster in science.

What ever happened to free-thinking?

oh wait... I shouldn't ask that... it's not Politically Correct.

Thanks for stopping by. You'll find kindred spirits here at Western Hero.

Yes, there's an incredible amount of closed-mindedness in the scientific world as well...

From what I've personally experienced, science could do better with a dash of mysticism - we've just scratched the surface of how this Universe actually operates. I believe it is a far more wonderful place than the clockwork construct we are taught.

At the risk of sounding racist...

Gee, I spent 25 years wondering when White History week would occur, or European History week, or perhaps, German, Italian, French, Indian, Scandinavian...etc...

But then again, I suppose if you're not a favored minority you just get stereotyped as white ruling class.

MLK was a great man, but then again so was Patrick Henry... one can't use the argument that this is inculcated into the young by our system... just ask any college student who Patrick Henry was...

Didn't he play for the Steelers?

Actually, wasn't Patrick Henry a New England Patriot?

I couldn't resist, Finn!
