Congress made a courageous stand against the $700 Billion bailout, but then Hope and Change kicked in. Wall Street banksters kept Hope alive, and the Senate provided the Change, adding an additional $100 Billion to it. Here are some headlines:

Washington-Wall Street: Finishing What Al Qaida Started
Americans may be unhappy with the Wall Street bailout, but it has given encouragement to a beleaguered Al Qaida.
This failure was an inside job, but the evidence clearly indicates that the perpetrators were ignorant dupes.
"The enemies of Islam are facing a crushing defeat, which is beginning to manifest itself in the expanding crisis their economy is experiencing," said a stinking, 7th century misogynist Al Qaida spokesturd...One of Bin Laden's stated goals was to bring financial ruin to the United States. The wackadoos who think 9/11 was an inside job should drop that nonsense and focus on the financial headlines instead. Osama himself couldn't have planned it any better.

Bill O'Reilly is a Boob
Everybody has heard about Bill O'Reilly unloading on Barney Frank last week. Although entertaining to some, O'Reilly's rude tirade did absolutely nothing to advance whatever point he was trying to make. He looked stupidly unhinged, making Barney Frank appear responsible and reasoned in contrast. But it helped his ratings, which is all that matters.
Getting to the bottom of an issue is not the point of The Factor or any other TV program. The purpose is to keep us stirred up and watching. It's a soap opera with a never ending string of cliff-hangers. And that's too bad. The nation needs reasoned political discourse, but instead we get verbal WWF. O'Reilly and the rest of the TV blabbermouths are part of the problem, not the solution.
Even a country hick like me knows how to expose the Franks and Pelosis for what they are: Simply ask them to explain what caused this crisis. Don't let them speak in generalities; make them define their terms. Then ask them to logically step us down the line from cause to effect. They wouldn't be able to do it. The first problem would be defining those irresponsible Bush economic policies they keep talking about.
President Bush's only contribution to this debacle was trying to be a "compassionate conservative," whatever the hell that is. As Oklahoma Senator Dr. Tom Coburn says, it's not compassion if your doing it with money coerced from other people.
No Democrat or progressive has been able make a logical case that "Bush economic policies" or deregulation caused this crisis. They just mumble the words and the press nods its head knowingly. Nobody has asked them to explain this belief.
In contrast, conservatives have made a logical argument explaining how liberal policies foisted on lenders, aided and abetted by Fannie and Freddie, have brought us to this point. Did Wall Street greed contribute? Yes! And conservatives have said so.
Who has the logic, who has the reasoned argument that is supported by provable facts? Only the conservatives. Liberals have white-hot anger and passion. And Bill O'Reilly, face red as a tomato, happily joins them, thereby blowing a great opportunity to expose Barny Frank as the dirty, lying pol he is.
Thanks Bill. Who's looking out for me? It sure as hell ain't you.

Caveman Congress
They caved. Those brave Republicans and blue dog Democrats who squashed the bailout earlier this week caved and the bailout bill passed. A politician just can't pass up an opportunity to "Do Something!," especially when this much pork is involved.
John McCain and the Republicans blew their chance to stand up for Main Street and maybe engineer a conservative comeback this election. They could have made the case for a return to responsible government, but they chose instead to keep their snouts in the trough. They're no better than Democrats, which means they lose this November.
And the bailout will probably have its intended affect. The Washington-Wall Street pirates will end their squalling diaper rash fit and get the finance markets moving now that Uncle Sucker has promised to buy their junk for more than it's worth with your tax dollars and borrowed Chinese money.
But they've shot a fly with a cannon. Yeah, they took out the fly that was bugging them, but they also took out the neighbor's house and deafened everyone in the neighborhood. Meanwhile, they have not addressed the root cause that attracted the flies in the first place:
The pile of socialist excrement created by liberal government snake oil salesmen is still stinking up the yard. And it will attract more flies.

It's Only Money
We voiced opposition to this bailout so what does the Senate do? It adds more spending to it! Government is not the solution, it's the problem.
Anyway, Medicare and Social Security obligations dwarf the current scheme being cooked up by our Feral Government. The First rule of holes is to stop digging, but the candyman politicians don't want to hear that.
Little Jimmy Bankster tried to make gold out of lead and failed, so Uncle Sucker comes along, wipes away his tears and stuffs his pockets full of taxpayer money.
Why didn't our government at least try a free-market approach? Lower capital gains to attract capital, lower the corporate tax rate so multinationals can repatriate money made overseas without paying a 35% penalty. Why not insurance and loans instead of handing $700 Billion to the geniuses who cooked up this mess? These are all ideas supported by a rump minority of House Republicans and supported by a host of respected economists, many of them more libertarian than conservative. But they're not as much fun as handing out goodies, and this solution guarantees more political contributions from Wall Street.
Here's one more thought. Why are these bad loans clogging the financial system, freezing up money and credit? Believe it or not, there is a market for them. The holders could sell them right now, "unfreezing" things.
These bad assets are frozen because the holders are waiting for a better deal from Uncle Sucker. Why sell for 25 cents on the dollar when President Bush and Congress will buy them at above-market prices? That's what's got the finance market froze up.
This is a crisis of leadership and of character, and we brought it on ourselves. We cheered on the financial pirates and demanded nothing from our leaders. A Financial crisis comes along and the best these brilliant minds can come up with is to shovel $1 Trillion of government money at it? Our country is being ran by incompetent empty suits and empty heads.
Meanwhile we're cheering for Democrats or Republicans like this is a sporting event. Well, in this game, both teams win and the fans are the losers.
If you're not mad, you're not paying attention.
