Obama's "Empowered" America

Community organizing and neighborhood activism is not about helping people...

It's about harvesting their votes.  Despite billions spent and decades of activism, every dysfunction of poor communities is on the increase:  dependency, violence, school drop outs, drug use, unwed pregnancies.

Beat down by life, America's poor are coddled by community activists who stoke angry grievances against "the system," "the man," the "rich and powerful," whatever gets you through your miserable life.  Every now and then, a mischievous liberal will dangle a bauble or two in front of them just for kicks...

DETROIT -- Detroit's homeless and low-income residents have another opportunity for a chance at millions of stimulus dollars.  The money is available to help low-income residents from becoming homeless and homeless residents to find housing.

Thousands of people lined up Tuesday. Some people in line falsely believed they were registering for $3,000 stimulus checks from the Obama Administration.

This betrays a pathology in certain pockets of America, where people, despite the blows of reality, still believe in free money and the fairy tales their progressive keepers tell them.  They need to believe in themselves...

Here's what embattled ACORN boss Bertha Lewis had to say about empowerment as she railed against the forces assailing her corrupt organization:

"We've seen this play before, whether it was the civil rights movement or whatever, when you organize poor people to have real power, what you do is often turned against you."

Real Power? 

All those poor people standing in line for free stuff don't look empowered to me.  Ask them if it felt like real power being rousted out of their tenement blocks, plied with booze and smokes, and bussed off to go pull the lever for the latest slate of corrupt Democrat politicians. 

Who has the real power?

Liberal Democrats like President Obama, who harvest the votes of the inner city poor by promising them hope while distributing some meager goodies through corrupt community organizers. 

So how does an ordinary American, even an impoverished American, get real power? 

Three letters: J - O - B.   

And if you can't find one, it's time to M - O - V -E.

I am the king of my humble, 40 year old castle, standing on my deck, beer in hand, surveying my postage stamp yard over the lid of my BBQ grill.  I'll never dine at Cannes with the rich and beautiful, but as George Straight sings, "I ain't rich, but Lord I'm free."  And it's all because I have a job. 

And I might still be unemployed had I not escaped the rust belt at the tender age of 17.  What else did I do right? 

I followed Dr. Walter E. Williams' Rules to Avoid Poverty:

* Graduate high school
* Get married before you have children
* If you get married, stay married
* Get a job, any job. A minimum wage job is a stepping stone
* Avoid engaging in criminal behavior

I am not highly educated and I did not come from privilege.  One set of grandparents were Eastern Europeans who were dragged off to forced labor in Nazi Germany.  The other side of my family were itinerant dirt farmers.

If community organizers were sincere about giving the poor "real power" they would teach them the power of self-sufficiency contained in Dr. Williams' rules.  But then, that's no way to build a liberal political movement...

Cultural Vandalism

Hollywood could't make this stuff up. Is liberalism really a mental disorder, as Doctor Savage says?

DENVER — An act of vandalism at Colorado Democratic headquarters that shattered windows next to signs about health care reform took a strange turn Wednesday when it was revealed that one of the suspects was a Democratic activist.

Democratic leaders initially said that the window shattering was an act of political vandalism, possibly by opponents of health care reform. But the political leanings of suspect Maurice Schwenkler raised the prospect that one of the party's own might have vandalized its building to make a statement.

This is not an isolated case. Liberals routinely are caught perpetrating stuff like this and then blaming it on neo-Nazis, right-wingers, conservatives, Republican howler monkeys, whatever.

A Long Legacy of Liberal Lies
There's the Claremont hate crime hoax, where a female professor vandalized her own car and claimed right-wing anti-Semites did it.

How about all those noose sightings, many of which turned out to be authored not by racists, but by champions of diversity? Liberal BS, like the Duke Lacross case that ended in criminal charges for an over-zealous prosecutor.

The Tawana Brawley case may be the most famous and egregious of all. Her brutal gang rape, an ordeal that lasted days, culminated with the white men (including cops) who did it scrawling racial slurs on her body and stuffing her in a trash bag and leaving her outside overnight in below-freezing temperatures. Reverend Al Sharpton mounted a loud public defense of the teen, launching himself to national prominence. One problem: It was a hoax.

To the press's credit, they usually reveal the damning evidence of the discovered fraud... on page 528 of the Saturday edition.

This is not a "black thing," it's a liberal thing
Liberals are always willing to believe the worst about our society, and they will seize upon any example to reinforce their dark view of our hateful, racist society.

Up From Planned Parenthood
Before the 1960's, liberals and progressives were more preoccupied with getting black women to planned parenthood than they were to getting them to the front of the bus. In that earlier age, they vociferously proclaimed the innocence of pinko spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were executed for passing nuclear secrets to the Soviets. When the wall came down, Soviet government records confirmed their guilt.

Before that, they strenuously defended murderers Nichola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, both Italian immigrants as well as anarchist draft dodgers. Today it continues with the defense of cop killers Mumia Jamal (African American) and Leonard Peltier (Native American).

Wherever there is some distasteful criminal, you will find a clutch of guilty liberals lionizing them as heroic victims of an oppressive society. The bigger the crimes the better. Che Guevara, T-Shirt salesman to the Tards and murderer of Cuban campesinos, is one of their all-time international favorites.

It's all about the Meta-Truth
Hoax or truth, guilt or innocence doesn't matter. The meta-narrative cannot be denied. America is an immigrant-hating, racist empire ran by melanin-averse white people. Because of this, the Italian anarchist, the pre-Israel Jew, and later the Indian and the black, are all innocent and the contemptible white accusers are all up for indictment. Note that progressives have ditched Jews for the trendier Palestinians as their victim of preference.

Back when People Magazine still did substantive reporting, they described the unraveling of the Tawana Brewley case:

Finally the fabric of polemic and exaggeration in which the triumvirate had entrapped both Tawana and their cause appeared to be coming undone. First, Perry McKinnon, an aide close to Sharpton, went public to say that their defense of Tawana had been nothing but "a pack of lies."

Unfortunately, at each unraveling, the press and the public merely move on to the next progressive agitprop, never stopping to think maybe we should stop listening to these people and their never ending pack of lies.
