Liberal Belief in Fairy Tales is not Limited to Global Warming
Liberals live in a fantasy bubble where all us conservatives are lowbrow wife beaters or slack-jawed hicks with tobacco juice dribbling down our chins. We're uneducated and superstitious; just look at how many of us go to church! Meanwhile, enlightened liberals constitute America's cognoscenti and intelligentsia.
Well, Michael Graham has written a brilliant article that bursts that irrational bubble.
If you thought the “fire never melted steel” crowd was nuts, check out the new study from the bipartisan Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life.He goes on to catalog Obama and Dems talking out of both sides of their mouths: Speechifying about deficit reduction while ballooning the deficit, saying "no more earmarks" while passing bills that contain thousands of them, laughable claims of slashing medicare spending while adding more people to the program...
They find that liberals and Democrats are far more likely to believe in ghosts, psychic powers and astrology than their conservative/Republican counterparts.
About 50 percent more Democrats than Republicans say they have spoken to the dead. Or as it’s known at Democratic Party headquarters, “voter outreach.”
He concludes:
Even if their math is right today, who is naive enough to believe this trillion-dollar government program will come in on budget? This would explain why the Democrat politicians want to treat us all like children. They think we're all as naive as their liberal democratic constituents.
I know people who believe in leprechauns who aren’t that gullible.

There does seem to be an unbridled cynicism in play and of course that's married to a lack of belief in truth. The result? They'll say anything they like and devil take the hindmost - emphasis on devil.
Liberals have always believed in fairy tales, and paint rosy, pie in the sky pictures for the electorate before each and every election:
* a clean planet is a happy planet. Those of you who vote for folks with an (R) behind their names who want to pollute like pigs, please leave, and quit breathing our air. We hear Mars is nice this time of year. Go there.
* nuclear weapons are bad. Let's get rid of ours, and then all the nations of the world can sit around the camp fire and sing kumbaya. And if one of those nations gets uppity, we can talk them out of doing whatever evil crap they want to do. See how this can work? We just need to all get along.
* poverty is bad. Let's pass the hat around, and everybody can put some money in it, and then we can distribute it to everybody, and then there's no poverty. (NOTE: when the hat comes you way, you MUST put money into it, or go to jail). And WE will decide who gets what, you just cough up the money and shut up. OK?
Well I believe with the actions of the current administration and congress have collectively shattered those 'pie in the sky' dreams of a good majority of 'believers'.
But there still remains the hold-outs for hand-outs who have yet to hear; No Virginia, there is NO Santa Clause.
Is that why Acorn registers dead voters?
Yeah Hack. Teddy Kennedy will probably vote 8 or 9 times next week, if Satan lets him out on parole...
that image says it all ! have a great weekend my friend!:)
Several things Silverfiddle,
You prominently display the A anarchy symbol as part of Democrats. Anarchy means without Rulers but persons who believe in Statism are completely against Anarchist principles. And the current debate seems to center on the concept that Dems are Ardent Statists trying to take over everyone's lives. That doesn't seem to fit with the symbol usage, especially since the Teabaggers (solidly Right) are declaring less government is the key...
The use of the upside down cross is rather shameless Dems can't be christians? Or are the Satanists?
And Global Warming. Well, man made climate change is not proved science, but what is proved is that under Republicans companies feel free to flout pollution laws and Republican politicians declare we don't need to do anything to protect the planet because "it was already saved". Additionally, it's notable those who strongly denounce climate change scientific inquiry also declare Evolution to be a hoax.
Evolution is proven science.
As for health care, it's sad that those among us not blessed with money, education, sound minds and bodies would be allowed to die because we need to spend Trillions on warfare and nothing to aid the medical costs of those less fortunate. Christ would be proud.
Wow, that really hit home for you, grunge...
You are correct about the anarchy part. Statists are not anarchists, but they end up causing anarchy for those proles not privileged enough to be behind the politburo blast walls.
The vast majority of those who criticize and lampoon Christians are liberals, so the cross is appropriate.
I am glad to hear you agree that GW is not proven science. I do suggest you go to open secrets or other campaign fund tracking website and notice who's been getting the corporate money (hint: It's not all going to the GOP).
Where in this country are people dying due to lack of health care?
For it to be charity (love) in the Christian sense, it must be from the heart and of your own volition (and imho, without the money sticking to the fingers of rent-seeking politicians).
Good post Silver ...
"They find that liberals and Democrats are far more likely to believe in ghosts, psychic powers and astrology than their conservative/Republican counterparts. "
The loons would say "oh what about Nancy Reagan?" just like whenever one brings up the " All Muslims aren't terrorist's but all terrorists are Muslims" they always retort ridiculously with "what about Timothy McVeigh?"
I think these people simply can never be reached with logic because their minds operate in the equivalent of a universe without a cell tower that's making calls we can't decrypt in the sane world.
I like the cell tower analogy, Ray
