A 2010 Prediction

I don't know who will win the Super Bowl or the World Series.  I imagine the economy will remain flat, struggling under weighty government regulation and taxation with uncertainty added in for good measure, but I really don't know.

This I do Know:
The liberal establishment will do their damnedest to splinter us

It's the only shot liberals have at stopping the conservative onslaught.  The press will shine a white hot spot spot light upon every microscopic crack and fissure within the conservative movement.  These minuscule differences will be played up into grand canyons and unbridgeable chasms.

Liberals will be driving wedges anywhere they see an opening, hoping to spawn rightwing third-party, fourth-party, Neo-Whig Constitutionalists, John Galt Objectivist Libertarian Party movements, whatever.  Anything to fracture the hated anti-government, pro-liberty opposition and guarantee continued democratic dominance.

Elites Left and Right Will Never Understand The Tea Party Movement

Establishment chatterers like David Brooks describe the tea party movement in unflattering or negative language:
The tea party movement is a large, fractious confederation of Americans who are defined by what they are against.

They are against the concentrated power of the educated class. They believe big government, big business, big media and the affluent professionals are merging to form self-serving oligarchy — with bloated government, unsustainable deficits, high taxes and intrusive regulation.

My response?  Hell Yeah!  And we're angry. And we vote!

And we won't be voting for liberals or squishy moderates.  And what's so bad about being "against."  I'll bet every single one of these whiny liberals are "against" being poked in the eye with a stick, so drop the BS already!

We are Conservatives, We don't need leaders to tell us how to think

We are conservatives; we don't need to roll ourselves into one tight stinking, collectivist ball like the libs do.  We don't need a community organizer to bribe us with hooch and smokes to go to the polls.  We don't need a leader to tell us what to think.  This is unimaginable to collectivist huddled masses on the left.

We will argue with one another over Sarah Palin; cultural conservatism versus libertarianism; and a thousand other flash points, but we won't take our ball and go home.  We will vote conservative in November because we are 100% united in complete opposition to the Obama-Pelosi-Reid Socialist-Statist agenda.

2010:  The year we burn their ACORNS so bad they won't be worth pulling out of the fire!

Great post! I have to begin stopping in at your site(s) on a regular basis.

Being a mixture of independent conservatism, Randian philosophy, and a bit of libertarian tossed in I completely understand what you are saying here.

RN: I am not quite the Rand devotee that you are, but I know an ally when I see one. We don't all need to think exactly alike, we just need to make common cause against an out of control government monster.

Silver, Great post. I am pleased to see you include not voting for "squishy moderates" or as I prefer to name them; RINO 'S.

I see these people (elected or not) as the most dangerous element in preventing our shared goal.

Keep up the graet work my friend.

Christopher: thanks for the kind words, and I agree. For this reason, I think we are actually in better shape than if McCain would have won. Were he now president, he would be cutting deals and the lines would be blurred.

Thanks to Obama and his socialist advisers working with unabashed, far-left liberals in congress, we have bright lines and bold colors distinguishing out stark differences.

I could not agree more.

If we can't win the next time around, then we never will.
This is our big chance.

It may be the GOP's last chance...

Erick Erickseon at RedState had a monumental post yesterday questioning Palin attending the Tea Party Conference when admission is so friggin' much and a bunch of idiots have stepped forward to claim they are the "leaders" of the movement ... when we all know it's little groups of 10, 20, 30, and 40 people getting to together and networking with others and getting our voices heard by our actions ... not our friggin' speeches.

He's right ... and you are right ... the libs stand no chance against pissed off people who've taken up their keyboards and phones and picket posters, eschewing pitchforks and tar.

I read that, Snarky, and Erikson's right. Whoever tries to stand up and take leadership of this thing will end up getting trampled.

We are conservatives, we don't need a community organizer.

Dick Armey has a lot to do with this, God bless him, but he's smart enough to stay in the background.
