In addition, Kirk* -- who appears headed for confirmation despite an admission that he mistakenly underpaid his taxes by $10,000 -- is viewed by many as a pragmatist who in the past has supported the notion of free trade.* - Ron Kirk, President Obama's nominee as U.S. trade representative

What does this make? 4, 5, or 6?
I've lost track. This calls to mind VDH's observation on the press ignoring VP Biden gaffs. He calls it Biden's Law: Biden has made so many gaffes that they no longer are newsworthy.
I am sickened by this administration. Will there be any liberty left after Obama?
I am seriously beginning to wonder quickb... I think that the 'liberties' currently being taken by the elected majority far exceed those taken in the past. While past administrations undoubtedly made every effort to bend the rules in their execution of what they perceived as "national interest". It seems that now we are advocating rewriting the rules in their entirety, all outside of the framework of constitutional limitations on power.
I think this is quite possibly these times present the greatest threat to our federal constitutional republic thus far.
