Heraclitus came just a little before Obama and Clinton...
He was a pre-socratic greek philosopher. One who was more or less overlooked because Plato criticized him. Nietzsche and others focused their attention on him and started to make him a bit more popular and well-known within the western philosophical tradition.

Richard Rorty was quite an interesting intellectual.
The Philosophy of Political Science--Same BS for years and across boarders.
Rorty was amazing. If you want to know the type of philosopher I want to be, read him.
