Performance Czar Withdraws Candidacy

What the hell is a performance czar and why does the White House need one? Does she direct White House plays and coach the west wing glee club? Maybe she organizes provocative street theater and liberal agitprop pushing government sponsored socialism...

Who is this woman, now joining the Democrat cast of thousands who have cheated on their taxes? We didn't even get to know her before she withdrew herself from nomination to a White House position.

President Obama is going through Democratic tax cheats like crap through a goose.

I'm not the first guy to say this so I won't take credit, but it's no wonder Democrats are for higher taxes, they don't pay them!

For the sake of some sort of intellectual 'honesty' it should be to their credit that they had the modesty and shame to withdraw their names.

They haven't actually done any harm. Obama admitted he made a mistake; now he's moving on. You're the people who are harking on it.

Damn skippy we're harking on it!

And did you mean "harking" as in paying close attention, or "harping" as in to dwell on or recur to a subject tiresomely or monotonously?

"Intellectual Honesty"... is that different than REAL HONESTY?

A mistake? Are you that naive? I guarantee you all of his nominations go through a vetting process and he knew all the dirt in advance. Even if he delegated that responsibility down HE IS STILL RESPONSIBLE! That the man who promised change, who promised a new era of honest government is pushing tax evaders (three so far) is inexcusable. I'll also guarantee that had Geithner been a Republican nomination he never would have gotten through a Democratic controlled House and Senate. It is a double standard, plain and simple.

A MISTAKE? One...is a mistake.... three is either incompetence or he simply doesn't give a damn. Honestly, from the perspective of an American citizen who, if he was delinquent on say several thousand dollars in income tax would have a lien placed on his home and his wages garnished find a $128000 tax evader in charge of the IRS to be the ultimate irony and the ultimate example of political elitism ever.

You say "modesty and shame" I say political expediency... OOPS! We've been caught! You don't lead by excluding yourself from the rules by benefit of your position...you lead by EXAMPLE! If they had any integrity at all they would have excluded themselves from consideration from the beginning, not after they were caught.

They haven't done any harm? Tell all the folks in jail for tax evasion that they haven't done any harm. They've done plenty of harm by illustrating that the 'new' boss is the same as the old boss. They have harmed the process and the country's faith in it's president.

Three of the nominations to cabinet level positions have had tax problems... that's what about15%? What about the untold number of executive appointments that do not require "the advice and consent" of the House? How many tax cheats do we have in the executive branch? 15? 30? 60? 90?

Damn Skippy I'll hark and harp on it... because Democrat or Republican I have zero tolerance for a lack of integrity in government officials. If anything government officials should be held to a higher standard than the average citizen. I've worked in government...we ARE held to a higher standard... we can not tolerate even the appearance of impropriety because it affects the average citizen's perception of government... oh wait... that only applies to your average government employee... I forgot... the people in charge are exempt from the rules, they are ruling class... I am so sorry, I forgot my position as a mere serf! How dare I question the ethics of my political superiors? I should be flogged!

And people wonder why I'm a cynic!

I meant 'harping'.

These guys are still better than the heads of all the major muti-national corporations. You don't think they evade paying taxes? It might not be as obvious a mistake. They just don't get caught.

Only an idiot thinks the guy with three DUI's has only driven drunk three times. The same reasoning tells us the depth of corruption that undoubtedly abounds in democrat politics.

Canadian Pragmatist,
The "yea but those people do it too" argument is for dumbasses in full fledge denial mode. The evidence is right in front of your face and you make excuses to protect a fragile perception of the world you somehow need to protect. I'm frankly tired of babysitting people so frightened of the reality that exist.

Completely unsubstantiated statement. I can't believe you are this naive, Canadian.

Read Animal Farm. The pigs (entire moneyed political class, I'm not just talking Dems, here) have taken over, and they are now telling us workhorses that some animals are more equal than others.

Sorry, that doesn't fly.

Might be relevant if we were looking to put them in charge of a major multi-national corporation.

I don't have to do business with IBM, I'm kind of stuck with my government.

This has absolutely nothing to do with party... it has to do with whether or not they are qualified... and qualified for a government position entails more than just being simply qualified to perform the work. I'm sure there are plenty of white collar business types currently in jail who are just as qualified... I don't want to see them in government either.

dude, get a clue on how life actually works. gov't produces NOTHING. gov't can employ as many people as it wants, but it produces NOTHING.

wealth comes from production. governments do not produce wealth...they consume it.

therefore...somebody else must be producing all of the world's wealth. and the people that are producing this wealth are called businessmen or corporations. i know those 2 words are frightening for socialists like yourself, but you have got to get over that fear...and you have got to understand how wealth is created, and how it is destroyed.
