I'm tired of liberals talking about "cleaning up Republican messes." For progressives, they sure regress a lot...
California, Michigan, and now New York have shown us that taxing and spending destroys jobs, kills economic growth, and eventually leads worn out taxpayers to flee the state. The two headed beast of government bureaucracy and liberal social programs ends up destroying its master.

Politicians who blather on about "cleaning up Republican messes" would do well to recall this oldie but goody:
An old bull and his young son stood atop a hillock, looking down upon a herd of cattle.
"C'mon dad!" cried the young bull, "let's run down there and get us a cow!"
"No son," rumbled the old bull, "let's stroll down and get them all."
An Exodus of Biblical Proportions
New Yorkers are fleeing the state, especially New York City, in alarming numbers -- and costing a fortune in lost tax dollars, a new study shows.
More than 1.5 million state residents left for other parts of the United States from 2000 to 2008, according to the report from the Empire Center for New York State Policy. It was the biggest out-of-state migration in the country.
The vast majority of the migrants, 1.1 million, were former residents of New York City -- meaning one out of seven city taxpayers moved out.
The Tax Loss?
It all adds up to staggering loss in taxable income. During 2006-2007, the "migration flow" out of New York to other states amounted to a loss of $4.3 billion
The Upside
If current population trends continue, these failed liberal bastions will lose congressional seats and influence as they bleed out people. The same goes for liberalism itself. Liberals don't breed, while conservatives are joyfully fruitful.

The problem is that the people who flee liberal bastions are, all too often, liberal themselves and they carry their liberalism to where they move, thus we see things like Virginia going for Obama because of Northern Virginia and Florida being iffy because all of the people from New York and New Jersey who retire there. Think locusts.
I agree, QA, we've been hit by a plague of liberals here in Colorado. They are trying their best to californicate us.
They don't even pause to consider what screwed up the state they fled...
They don't Silverfiddle and it's the same thing the immigrants mostly illegal do today. Leave their sh***y homeland and then come here to escape it and trash this place like the dumps they left....grrrrr...
Yeah Ray, and the real shame is, if they cam in properly through the front door, they could fit in in less than a generation, the Hispanics anyway.
Being illegal, they're victimized by acorn, la raza and the democratic vote harvesters.
And Virginia, NJ, and, soon, NY, have soon us that regressiveness is NOT what the American people want.
