A 2010 Prediction

I don't know who will win the Super Bowl or the World Series.  I imagine the economy will remain flat, struggling under weighty government regulation and taxation with uncertainty added in for good measure, but I really don't know.

This I do Know:
The liberal establishment will do their damnedest to splinter us

It's the only shot liberals have at stopping the conservative onslaught.  The press will shine a white hot spot spot light upon every microscopic crack and fissure within the conservative movement.  These minuscule differences will be played up into grand canyons and unbridgeable chasms.

Liberals will be driving wedges anywhere they see an opening, hoping to spawn rightwing third-party, fourth-party, Neo-Whig Constitutionalists, John Galt Objectivist Libertarian Party movements, whatever.  Anything to fracture the hated anti-government, pro-liberty opposition and guarantee continued democratic dominance.

Elites Left and Right Will Never Understand The Tea Party Movement

Establishment chatterers like David Brooks describe the tea party movement in unflattering or negative language:
The tea party movement is a large, fractious confederation of Americans who are defined by what they are against.

They are against the concentrated power of the educated class. They believe big government, big business, big media and the affluent professionals are merging to form self-serving oligarchy — with bloated government, unsustainable deficits, high taxes and intrusive regulation.

My response?  Hell Yeah!  And we're angry. And we vote!

And we won't be voting for liberals or squishy moderates.  And what's so bad about being "against."  I'll bet every single one of these whiny liberals are "against" being poked in the eye with a stick, so drop the BS already!

We are Conservatives, We don't need leaders to tell us how to think

We are conservatives; we don't need to roll ourselves into one tight stinking, collectivist ball like the libs do.  We don't need a community organizer to bribe us with hooch and smokes to go to the polls.  We don't need a leader to tell us what to think.  This is unimaginable to collectivist huddled masses on the left.

We will argue with one another over Sarah Palin; cultural conservatism versus libertarianism; and a thousand other flash points, but we won't take our ball and go home.  We will vote conservative in November because we are 100% united in complete opposition to the Obama-Pelosi-Reid Socialist-Statist agenda.

2010:  The year we burn their ACORNS so bad they won't be worth pulling out of the fire!

TROLLING!!!

A trolling we will go!  A Trolling we will go!  Hi ho the Dairy-O a trolling we will go!

Amid much fanfare, I am proud to announce the newest wing of Western Hero:  Go Trolling!  It's a blog roll of lefty bloggers, a liberal Hall of Shame, if you will.

I got the idea when I ran across some liberal nutbags who, like pigeons hovering over a statue, left their droppings at Bonsai From The Right.

So what did I do?  Like any military veteran worth his retirement check, I tracked the stinking rats back to their fetid lairs and pulled the pin.  (I do not rant at them.  I confuse them with reason and logic devoid of the foul language they are so accustomed to.)

My First Strike
My first high value target was a rubber-gloved TSA inspector who blogs when he's not wanding crotches, surfing full body scan porn and sniffing travelers' underwear.   He lays down some pretty funny foam-at-the-mouth liberal rants over at Disaffected.

He has an affinity for certain cuss words, using them over and over.  And he uses amusing nicknames for conservatives like "Racist Limbaugh."  HA HA HA!!!  Get it?  He replaced "Rush" with "Racist!"  Because Rush, like all conservatives is racist!  HA HA HA!!! Get it???

He may also work for Keith Olbermann on the side...

Anyway, avail yourself of the list (it's down to the right), and engage targets at will.  Be careful with Fabius Maximus,  and be respectful of Serving Patriot.  Neither are your average slobbering BDS socialist.

Fabius bills himself as a libertarian-liberal.  He is wickedly smart, has interesting and informed commentary, and will smack you down if you get stupid.  Serving Patriot is a well-reasoned man who shares much of our disdain for government and crony capitalism, just from the other side.

Have fun!

Independents Turn Right

Liberals forever strive and strain towards the collective, and independents are abandoning them in droves

The very rich and the very poor vote for ever more taxes and collectivist government programs. The middle class largely rejects them. Why?

Dennis Prager observed that the poor vote liberal because it costs them nothing. It's free stuff. The rich do it perhaps out of some misplaced guilt or to "give something back," whatever that means.

The Rich Can Afford Liberalism
Anyway, the rich have investment strategies to protect their wealth from a rapacious government, and they have enough money to wall themselves off from the social dysfunction, crime and chaos their liberalism creates.

When a tea partier protests taxes or big government programs, liberals are quick to shout "hypocrite!" because we are the beneficiaries of public libraries, police and the fire department, not to mention a national grid of roadways and utilities.

I love my local library, and I enjoy the thought of my tax money paying police officers to drag the dirtbags off to jail. We're well armed at our house, but a little backup is always a good thing.

Call them collectivist if you want, but these are proper functions of government, and conservatives don't mind paying for them.

Liberal Rodents Have Infested Our Homes
Liberals used to complain about government being "in the bedroom," during those right wing Christian Reagan years. Well, now Pelosi, Barney Frank and an inept army of federal bureaucrats are in every room of the house, regulating everything from light bulbs to flush toilets. They've invaded our neighborhoods, buying off our governors and mayors, and people don't like it.

These Gallup Survey results confirm what the recent elections told us. Independents are swinging conservative, big time:

Stupak Amendment Means Nothing

Fellow pro-lifers have been sending e-mails celebrating the passage of the stupak amendment.  I'm not sharing in the celebration.  That amendment is nothing but a small fig leaf for the cowering blue dogs.  Their lack of testicular fortitude makes it apparent that it only takes a small one to cover them.

Note the language in this excerpt from the NY Times.  The Stupak Amendment imposes "tight restrictions."  It does not ban federal money from funding abortions. The loopholes are big enough to drive a herd of buffaloes through.
To save the health care bill she (Pelosi) had to give in to abortion opponents in her party and allow them to propose tight restrictions barring any insurance plan that is purchased with government subsidies from covering abortions.
Pelosi and her fellow liberal bloodsuckers will have their free abortions, either through federal funding of planned parenthood, the giant Stupak loopholes, whatever.
But Ms. DeGette, Ms. DeLauro and other defenders of abortion rights said they would nonetheless vote in favor of the health care bill and fight for changes in the final version, to be negotiated with the Senate.

I don't believe these lying bastards for a second.
And if you do, you haven't been paying attention.  A plague of liberals has been unleashed upon the nation, and they will destroy everything in their path.

Liberals Give us The Finger

Like swarms of know-it-all gnats or plagues of lecturing locusts, progressive do-gooders just can't refrain from admonishing us...

Another day, another scold from the Obama White House. First they tell us to wash our hands and show us how to sneeze, now they're going to teach us about "green-house gas emissions":

When it comes to greenhouse-gas emissions, Energy Secretary Steven Chu sees Americans as unruly teenagers and the Administration as the parent that will have to teach them a few lessons.

The American public…just like your teenage kids, aren’t acting in a way that they should act,” Dr. Chu said. “The American public has to really understand in their core how important this issue is.” (In that case, the Energy Department has a few renegade teens of its own.)

The administration aims to teach them—literally.

Liberal hot air emissions are a bigger threat. We may end up teaching them a lesson in 2010. Good Lord willin'...

Global Warming and Other Modern Day Fairy Tales

From the Guardian, whose editorial board is disappointed that President Obama has yet to command the oceans to recede:

Europe has been increasingly critical of America's failures to live up to its global responsibilities. The US is not only the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gases but is by far the largest per capita emitter of carbon and other pollutants.

Oh yeah, Bozo? The US also happens to be the world's largest emitter of international aid, cutting edge electronic consumer products, and medicine and medical equipment, not to mention scientific research.

So blow it out your bagpipes you limey lecturers! *

Everything's a catastrophe with these anointed cognoscenti. Banking crisis; credit crisis; people aren't buying enough union-made cars crisis; illegal aliens and bullet-proof 20-somethings won't buy health insurance crisis...

When nobody believes their insipid global warming propaganda, they scream louder!

Here's some advice: Shut Up!
Here's some advice for these people: Shut up and get out of my face! Get your grubby dickskinners off our lives and go fix the bloated, bankrupt government you've been entrusted with!

Global warming is a sun-spot induced fairy tale, and wanting to blow trillions to turn down the earth's thermostat when temperatures are already falling is the pinnacle of scientific and economic ignorance.

So just shut up and put your wagging finger away! If the earth catches fire I'll be the first to admit I was wrong.

* Apologies to my British friends. You're not limeys, just the stupid ones are.

Chairman Obamao's Little Red Book

The rank condescension, treating us all like children, is what I find most galling about the Obama Administration in particular, and liberals in general.

And then there are the brainwashed masses...

* The hosanna shouting Hopium Smokers in the press;

* The intellectually, morally and financially bankrupt congressional politburo writing important laws restricting the capacity of flush toilets while continuing to worm their way into every corner of our lives;

* And those servants of the Ministry of Culture and Propaganda, the Hollywood celebutards pledging their pathetic, plastic lives to Obama.

They lecture on on things even a moron knows, and act as though they just thought it up themselves

We didn't know how to wash our hands before The Great O entered our lives!

We thank Minister of Hygiene Sebelius for teaching the masses how to cough.

Our children cared nothing for school until the dear leader imparted his words of wisdom and encouragement to them. "Get serious, work hard, sit up straight..."

Wow! What wisdom! How did we ever educate our young before The Big O rolled into our lives?

When they're not pronouncing the patently obvious as though they were Moses descending from Mount Sinai with The Tablets, they spout absurdities:

Expanded health care for all, and it won't add one dime of debt!

Terrorists attacked us from Canada

"Spend our way to prosperity" is my personal favorite. Right up there with Eat Yourself Thin. And if you disagree with The Big O-genda, you're a racist!!!

Enough Already! Shut Up! STFU! I'm tired of your lectures! And so is everybody else who isn't a mushy-headed libtard! So just shut up and leave us alone. Mankind survived before you got here and it will continue once you're gone.

Even Bill Maher (who I grudgingly respect when I'm not wanting to punch that smirk off his face), is fed up:
New Rule: Now that we've answered his call to wash our hands, President Obama must continue to tell us how to live. Last week, when America was faced with the pan-global swine flu omega death plague, the President went on TV and told people to wash their hands, and experts tell us this made a big difference, which augurs well for next month's "National Wipe Your Butt Day." Next week, in a fireside chat, he'll tell us not to put a fork in the toaster.
Maher better watch it. He may find himself on the enemies list next to Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. As for me, I agree with Reverend Gregori: No thanks. I've already got a Messiah.

ITS THE POLITICS STUPID

Or why can't a white man disagree with a black man without being a racist?

It seems to be all over the press these days, one can not dissent politically without being a racist. It seems to be the Lefts only answer to dissent.... RACIST!

Talia Whyte in her column said "Replace the word "Socialist" with "N****R" and it reads the same".

Maureen Dowd was forced to translate for those liberals who didn't understand conservative-speak, what Joe Wilson actually yelled was "YOU LIE, BOY!" In her racist fantasy bubble she has convinced herself that "Some people can't believe a black man is president and will never accept it". Of course, some people do believe that, they are not however confined to being conservatives.

Even former President Jimmy Carter has gotten into the act, and he is extremely worried. In the MSNBC video it was stated that "A certain number of signs and images have featured racist and other violent themes"... these were the signs that appeared in the video supporting their position, if I missed something racist please let me know (there was a woman in a T-shirt I couldn't read):

No to socialized medicine
Change we don't believe in
Hitler gave good speeches too
Throw all the bums out
A picture equating Obama with the Joker in Batman
Close the Border
Bury Obamacare with Kennedy
Re-Elect Nobody
The truth will set the US free
Obama's change - Change we don't need.

President Carter went on to say "An overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity towards Barack Obama is based on the fact he is a black man, on his being an African-American. I live in the south and I've seen the south come a long way, and I've seen the rest of the country that shared the south's attitude towards minority groups at that time, particularly African-Americans... that racism in connection still exists and I think it has bubbled up to the surface because of a belief by many white people, not just in the south but around the country, that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country. It's an abominable circumstance and grieves me and concerns me very deeply".

What grieves me and concerns me very deeply is the fact that it appears that I can no longer disagree with anyone who is not white without fears of being branded a racist, by people who can not defend their politics rationally.

Truth be told, I am proud that America has elected an African-American President... truth also be told I would much rather have Condoleeza Rice, or Colin Powell in the Chief Executives chair than Barack Obama. It has nothing to do with race, everything to do with politics.

Former President Carter closed with "Obama's personal qualities will enable him to triumph over the racist attitude that is the basis of the negative environment that we see so vividly demonstrated in public affairs in recent days".

No, we couldn't possibly disagree with you on your obviously extremely sane, rational, and well thought out policy proposals... we all must be racists! No one could think that more government programs, more governments spending, more government expansion, and more government meddling in affairs constitutionally outside of its purview could possibly be wrong.

Lydia Depillis CBS: A report from the ground characterized the 9/12 protest as "America threw a gigantic temper tantrum in Washington D.C", as a "Anti-government fit", and as "anti-government events collectively known as the 9/12 project".

First of all, in order to be anti-government (and don't get me wrong...we are!), the protest would have to be about government as it is, not as it may become if you deluded socialists get your way. We are protesting not government, but your deluded visions of what government should become. We don't care where you came from, what color your skin is, what your religion or sexual preference is... we think you are WRONG! Lily-White or not! You use the term "racist" as McCarthy used the term "communist", to advance your own argument not on merit, but by demeaning and devaluing your opponent, by labeling him... you really ought to look up the term "bigot" before labelling others:

Bigot: A person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices. One who regards members of a group with hatred or intolerance.

Cause quite frankly we aren't racists but you certainly appear to be bigots.

Tax and Slave: We're All Crazy Now

We're sitting on Humongously large deposits of natural gas, oil, and coal, but ObamaCongress just mandated that we revert to a 1790's per capita carbon usage level.

If it were good for big business, they would be doing it already

Make big business pay for all that carbon they produce? They'll just pass it on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. If the government blocks them from doing that, they'll just move to a less stupid country that still believes in free enterprise, like India.

Uncle Sugar Want You! ... to be his addicted crack ho

Your light bill just went up, but no worry, ObamaCongress will borrow money from China to help you pay it in the form of government energy assistance. That's right. They already have plans for an energy assistance plan. Sure, they create disasters with their legislation, but that's just an opportunity to create more legislation! They confiscate dollars from you, rake their take, and give you back pennies. Call it what you want: DC Conveyor Belt, Self-licking ice cream cone, theft. In Italy the call it the Mafia. A free citizenry would call it tyranny.

Economic Castration Upon The Altar of Gaia

Here's another thought. What if we were able to reduce our petroleum usage by 50%? What would happen? The global price would go down, and Russia, India and China would enjoy an economic boom, pouring more pollution into the atmosphere from the cheap petroleum, while we economically castrate ourselves upon the altar of Gaia.

The Science is not Settled

Australia is rolling back their carbon emissions scheme, according to Kimberley Strassel at WSJ. A growing chorus of respected scientists are defying the Reverend Al Gore of The International Church of Gaia. Why?

Because the Earth is Not Warming, and any scientist can tell you that carbon dioxide is not a pollutant!

This 1,000 + pages of legislation is madness. This is a scheme that could only be perpetrated on a people made stupid by two generations of state-run, liberal indoctrination disguised as education.

Who benefits? T. Boone Pickens and his Quixotic windmills, along with every other scam artist crafty enough to "go green" in order to curry favor with the O'Government. Reverend Al Gore, Church of Gaia also benefits because he owns a company that sells indulgences to guilty polluters.

A billionaire businessman benefiting from Democratic legislation that Republicans wanted to kill. Imagine that... Of course the progressives will even things all out by demonizing non-green businesses. It's what progressives do: Pick winners and losers, because some animals are more equal than others.

Conservatives Outnumber Liberals 2-1, Pt 2

Alternate theory: Many liberals don't like to label themselves as such, so they call themselves "moderate" when the pollsters call. I hate to accept it, but that is probably closer to the truth. If 3/4 of so-called moderates are really liberals in denial, then that breakout matches the 2008 presidential election almost to a T.

I still like Glenn Beck...

Conservatives Outnumber Liberals 2-1

Results from the latest Gallup poll may just explain why the Democrats are trying to rush their agenda through: Self-identified conservatives outnumber self-identified liberals two to one. WSJ reports that support for an activist government is on the wane.

Gotta fleece the yokels and wrap up this flim flam jig before the townsfolk get out the tar and feathers!

The liberal zeitgeist sweeping the nation is not powered by enviro-friendly solar panels or Quixotic windmills, or even hot air from Al Gore. It's powered by charisma. Barack Obama's popularity is the miraculous engine driving a progressive agenda in a still-conservative nation. Once his popularity drops, liberalism will collapse like the rotten, intellectually-bereft edifice it is.

A Bush Behind Every Tree

Ben Smith wrote an interesting article in Politico about how conservatives are not united on the the Iran elections.

It didn't take long for the progressive pigeons to fly in and encrust it with their ignorant brain droppings.

It's amusing to see partisans inject their own ideology into the struggles of other cultures, even to the point of defending tyranny. Here is one liberal comment borne of historical ignorance:
"Many of these neocon's ideology is why Iran had their 1979 Islamic Revolution in the first place."
Yeah, it had nothing to do with religion or secular dictatorships, the Ayatollah really hated those neocons! Here's another ridiculous comment:
"More evidence that right wingers are insane. They want to shove their religious and conservative beliefs down our throats."
Oh yes, Falwall's moral majority has built quite a theocracy here in America, what with the slutty celebutard worship and gay weddings and all. And, of course, no one on the left ever tries to shove their enviro-religion and progressive views down our throats, right?

Here's a sane comment from non-liberal Ted:
I'd like to understand how the "neocon wingnuts" affected Iran during the Carter administration. Don't you get tired blaming Americans for extremism in other parts of the world? The problem today is that there is no easy answer. It's important for the people of Iran to know the US backs them - or we risk the same sorts of massacres that have happened so often in such cases. At the same time, our support gives the hardliners the excuse of "America muddling in their election". So the question is, do you stand on principle or convenience? Either route has it's perils.
Ted is a voice of sanity toiling upon a sea of stupidity. Ignorant lefties always try to read a Neocon conspiracy into any and all events, even if they are half a world away.

To steal from Freud: Sometimes and Iranian election is just an Iranian election.

Leering Liberals, Dirty Democrats

What is it about over-the-hill liberals and their crouching, creepy interest in sex, especially when it involves teens?

*-The HuffPo editorial politburo banned this comment

First Sarah Bernhard jokes about Sarah Palin getting gang-raped in Manhattan (it's performance art. You hicks in the sticks are too unsophisticated to understand how rape can be funny.) Perhaps Bernhard has unresolved anger issues stemming from Madonna dumping her for that skinny guy.

Then it was peeping pedo-bear Larry King asking teen daddy Levi Johnston where he and the Palin daughter "did it." "Did you do it in their house?" was how he phrased one of his creepy questions.

Next, Tyra Banks turned up the heat with Levi, trying to coax intimate details about their contraceptive use, crowd hooting in the background.

Now, an aging, bitter David Letterman, not satisfied with completely trashing Sarah Palin (how original!), goes after her daughter.

Sex is wonderful, but creepy, pedo-tinged liberals make it feel all icky...

Can we pass some kind of law barring old liberals from discussing sex in public? And can we ban the Viagra and prostate commercials while we're at it?

Reality Redefined: Liberal Financial Advice

Credit Card Rules Will Change For Everybody-The Vocabulary Already Has

Congress has "fixed" the credit "gougers", but those of us who pay off our balance each month will be the ones who really pay, in the form of annual fees.

Michelle Singletary,
a liberal collectivist disguised as a financial expert, gleefully explains it all in her WaPo article, scolding us greedy capitalists along the way.

She does what liberals do best: she hijacks the language to redefine reality.

In Singletary's ObamaNation, financially responsible people who use credit cards to pay bills and accumulate points while paying off the balance each month are being "subsidized" by the low-income who are "gouged" by the "credit pushers." How dare the greedy credit card companies demand interest from the poor who carry balances!

Thrifty people with good credit ratings "mooched" mortgage money from the bank, "cheating" deadbeats out of their "fair share".

Here's a big shovel-full from her "advice" column:

I know many of you feel entitled to use a credit card without any cost because you diligently and responsibly pay off the bill before the due date...

You probably never considered that the credit pushers made your access to "free" money possible by gouging the less fortunate with hideous penalty fees and wicked double-digit interest rates. Effectively, the most financially vulnerable consumers have subsidized the low interest rates and rewards programs that the more financially secure enjoy.

I know what some of you may be thinking: "Good for me; too bad for them. That's how capitalism works."

Right you are. That is how capitalism works. And at times it's a selfish system.

We live in a society where many people who do well can't sympathize with those who don't. We've created a culture in which people live by "I pulled myself up by my own bootstraps" or "I got mine; it's up to you to get yours."

The recent push in Congress to halt some of the industry's most egregious practices was aimed at helping less-fortunate consumers buried under credit card debt.

I admire her Orwellian use of the language, but to such liberals I ask a few simple questions:

If you were lending your own money out, would you lend equally to any and all, or would you rank the borrowers according to creditworthiness?

Would you really fork over one thousand dollars of your own money to a urine-stained stew bum who defecates in mailboxes and refuses to enter a homeless shelter because they make him leave his hooch at the door?

OK, more realistically, how about giving two thousand to your irresponsible neighbors who bought too much car and too much house and must constantly play musical bills because they refuse to downsize their lifestyle?

DemWorld: Up is Down, Down is Up

It's official: Responsible credit card user are now grouped with the "vultures" who kept the car companies afloat by purchasing their bonds and then asking to be paid back. Irresponsible credit card users now join the ranks of the virtuous, along with the unions that ran their companies broke with gold-plated bennies and outrageous labor costs.

And no, I don't sympathize with people who find themselves in trouble because they spent more than they can afford. Back in the day, making an irresponsible mess caused people to feel shame, which motivated them to avoid such behavior in the future.
And He shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
No, that's not about Obama. It's about God (Rev 21:4). Until Christ comes back, there will remain upon this earth crying, death, sorrow, and pain, regardless of what the liberals would have us believe.

Satan's Bagpipes

The Democratic party plays the press like Satan playing his bagpipes

Germans call Bagpipes a "Tootlesack." That struck me as quite comical when I first heard it from a drunken crowd of German Soldiers I was careening around with down Europe's cobblestone streets. The Scotsman who blew pipes for his British Army unit didn't like it too well though. It looked for a minute like there was fixin' to be a Queen's Own -vs- Bundeswehr throwdown. It all worked out OK because the English-speaking Germans couldn't cut through the angry piper's insults, which were wrapped heavily in a whiskey-soused burr. My Deutsches Freunden couldn't understand the whole bagpipe appreciation thing either. They hated the sound.

Bagpipe music: You either love it or hate it. To aficionados, it is an eerily haunting transport to windswept highlands and a bracing, courage-boosting call to battle. To detractors, it is a discordant clash of wheezes, snorts, and growls, with a bagful of tortured cats thrown in. One of my favorite Beverly Hillbillies moments was when Grannie grabbed her broom and set upon a man playing the bagpipes because she thought he was being attacked by a noisy monster.

The press is the Devil's bagpipes: A discordant hot air powered wailing of multifarious tones and squealings that somehow arrive at an evil, liberal harmony.

When the Democrats crank up Satan's Bagpipes, it feels like we conservatives are being attacked by a noisy monster. Meanwhile, liberals are happily dancing and singing along to the tune. It's their fighting song. It hearkens back to a time when we were all liberal and poor in FDR's America, where men were paid pennies to lean on shovels all day and the Feral Government controlled everything. Bankers were jumping out of windows and the Robber Barons who built our great railways were finally brought low by the great depression.

Why the Devil's Bagpipes? Because Muslims, Christians and Jews all know that Satan cannot create anything; he can only desecrate and pervert what God has created. And he can only do that with human cooperation. If that doesn't describe the press I don't know what does.

The press treats religion derisively, if at all, and believers are portrayed as superstitious buffoons. The only "Religious" people treated respectfully are those promoting gay marriage and other clearly anti-biblical ideas. Hollywood celebutard pronouncements are given the respect due to Moses descending from Mount Sinai.

Our stinking press can't even report basic facts without mischaracterizing them or adding their own little editorial comments. They can't help it: Most reporters have no real-world expertise. They earn a journalism degree and start reporting. Reporters of old at least started from an honest profession and some real-world knowledge that didn't come from radical Marxist professors.

So, am I saying the Democratic party is Satan? No. But The Prince of Darkness is more than happy to blow his pipes for them. So is the press evil? No. Like most of Satan's tools, they are clueless dupes who think they are doing good.

Where's Granny with her broom when we need her?

Porkulus: The Monster that ate DC

The "stimulus bill" is a liberal dream: A $900 billion pork platter that spreads taxpayer money like fertilizer in hopes that a thousand social programs will bloom. Here are some excerpts from WSJ:
Some $30 billion, or less than 5% of the spending in the bill, is for fixing bridges or other highway projects.

by our estimate only $90 billion out of $825 billion, or about 12 cents of every $1, is for something that can plausibly be considered a growth stimulus. And even many of these projects aren't likely to help the economy immediately.

The larger fiscal issue here is whether this spending bonanza will become part of the annual "budget baseline" that Congress uses as the new floor when calculating how much to increase spending the following year, and into the future.
Peter Ferrara catalogs the pork in the bill. It runs the gamut: Money for ACORN, Headstart, National Endowment for the Arts, increased welfare spending, government health care for families making four times the poverty rate ...

Don't believe all those conservative and libertarian naysayers? Then listen to unabashed liberal Democrat and Obama cheerleader Ron Brownstein writing in National Journal:

To call the economic legislation now moving through Congress a stimulus bill obscures its full implications. The measure represents the most ambitious effort in decades to swell public spending on domestic priorities such as education, infrastructure, and scientific research that many Democrats consider the foundation stones of sustained prosperity.

But it also provides the biggest surge in long-term public investment since President Johnson's Great Society in the 1960s.

Liberals are drooling at this once in a lifetime opportunity to grab double fistfuls of taxpayer money, haul it out in tractor trailer loads and shower those who didn't earn it. Their aim is bigger government intruding upon the smallest nooks and crannies of our already big brother supervised lives. Like Obama's chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel said, "You can't let a good crisis go to waste."

"No president in my lifetime has had this opportunity to fund public investments," says Robert Reich, a University of California (Berkeley) public policy professor who advised Obama's campaign.

There are some voices of sanity crying out in the wilderness. Eamon Javers and Jim Vandehei over at Politico sum up the argument of the Do-Nothings.
For the Do-Nothings, the argument isn’t about economic nuance, it’s about right and wrong. They say that borrowing more money to finance a stimulus package will pass a crushing and possibly permanent debt load on to the next generation. “The question is,” says Chris Edwards, the director of tax policy studies at Cato, “is this morally proper?”

“The economy was too big. It was all phantom wealth borrowed from abroad,” says Andrew Schiff, an investment consultant at Euro Pacific Capital and a card-carrying member of the stand-tall-against-the-stimulus lobby. “All this stimulus money is geared toward getting consumers spending and borrowing again. But spending and borrowing were the problem in the first place.”

The Do-Nothing Crowd also points to some of the hidden upsides of the recession — developments they say are already helping position the U.S. economy for a recovery.

The most noticeable impact is that housing prices are coming down to a more sustainable level. For first-time buyers, this is reopening a path to homeownership that had been all but blocked by hyper-inflated prices.

...weak companies that have problems competing are being weeded out of the system.

...companies have been forced to face the reality that they haven’t been making products that customers actually want to buy. (think GM)

American families are finally starting to pay down the dangerously high debt levels they’ve accumulated.

Nobel Prize-winning economist Edward Prescott of Arizona State University agrees. “Congress has to do what people want, and it’s clear that the people want this stimulus,” Prescott says. “But I just wish the people would tell them: ‘Don’t do it.’”
The Wall Street Welfare Queens got their chance to loot the treasury under President Bush's reign, now the Socialist Democrats get their crack at taxpayer money in a President Obama joint. A bi-partisan screwjob is still a screwjob nonetheless.

A Liberal Mess

So I'm trying to get down the mountain last Friday after a great day of skiing in fresh powder, and stupid people are getting in the way by causing multiple multi-car pileups, closing the interstate in both directions.

These arrogant, idiot drivers were scrambling to get back to their liberal sanctuary city that put Obama over the top in this state. OK, maybe they weren't all Obamabots, but when it comes to elections, I believe in collective guilt.

The roads were extremely slick and I, along with the other sane drivers, was doing about 30 and maintaining a good distance between me and the car in front. Had everyone stuck to this plan, we'd have all made it down in about two hours. But no... The entitled progressives driving Land Rovers, Subarus, and various Lexi voted with their accelerators for suspending the laws of physics, imperiously zig zagging through traffic. So these dingbats rushing back to their liberal utopia bollixed it up for everybody by causing about 25,000 car wrecks in the span of 20 minutes.

It normally takes 1 hour (2 hours in bad weather) to get back to the Sodom and Gomorrah at the foot of the Rockies, where I turn off and head for God's country. Thanks to these impatient progressives who long ago became untethered from reality, it took over four hours as we waited for the authorities to clean up the mess they caused.

This reminded me of Michael Medved and Helen Thomas. You know Helen Thomas, the incredibly old and incredibly liberal White House reporter. Well, she was asked in an interview to explain her liberalism, and she replied that, "well, we're all born liberal."

Michael Medved had a wonderful riposte. I'm paraphrasing from memory, and probably embellishing, so my apologies to Mr. Medved:
Of course we’re all born liberal! As babies we expect someone to pick us up and suckle us when we cry. Eating, like every other pleasure, comes with no effort. Babies don't have to earn anything, they pay for nothing, but they deserve everything. Babies pee, poop, drool and spill wherever they want because someone else cleans up the mess. Puke down the front of your shirt, pee your pants, poop on the carpet; no responsibility, just gimme, gimme, gimme! It's a fantasy world of padded guard rails, warm swaddling, and adults sacrificing mightily for your comfort and safety. A liberal paradise.
Yes, liberals and babies have a lot in common, and all the adults can do is clean up the mess and move on, after a four hour delay.

Political Joke for the Weekend

Democrat-ran New Orleans floods out, big humanitarian disaster, and Republicans are blamed. Liberal social policies have Democratic-ran California near bankruptcy and overran with illegal aliens and gangs, but they continue to vote Democratic. Michigan is a Democratic state whose economy is in the dumper. Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, just to name a few Republican-dominated states, are enjoying prosperity, but miserable Michigan residents still blame President Bush. I don't understand it.

This joke offers an explanation:

A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below...

She shouts to him, 'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am.'

The man consults his portable GPS and replies, 'You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.0 9 minutes west longitude.

She rolls her eyes and says, 'You must be a Republican!'

'I am,' replies the man. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' answers the balloonist, 'everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me.'

The man smiles and responds, 'You must be a Democrat.'

'I am,' replies the balloonist. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' says the man, 'You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault.

New Yorker: Too Sophisticated for its Audience

This was done by liberals, at the expense of liberals, for the entertainment of liberals. Imagine the firestorm of outrage if a conservative publication had engaged in such lampooning!

It was supposed to poke fun at the those right wing racists by parodying their unenlightened, caveman beliefs. Apparently, the irony was lost on the target audience. The Obama campaign was less than amused and his supporters in the press are in a tizzy.

Perhaps this hit a little too close to home? Think about it. If he and Michelle had been portrayed as say, John and Teresa Kerry, do you think the uproar would be as loud?

Bush and Cheney must be behind this somehow, probably Halliburton, too.

At least the New Yorker didn't threaten to cut his giblets out.

Beer and A Joke for the Weekend

George Will has written a scholarly but highly readable (does he ever write any other way?) treatise on the benefits of beer and it's role in human survival throughout history. This reminded me of a joke I got in an e-mail awhile back about Beer, Conservatives, and Liberals. I apologize in advance to my liberal friends; it's just a joke :)

Beer, Conservatives & Liberals: A History Lesson

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups: 1. Liberals; and 2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement. Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement. Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girliemen.

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided. Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history: It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it. A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to tick them off.
