As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.
What do you mean it "seemed (should be 'seems') that way"? It is that way.
And is that the best thought you had that day? It seems like you could have had it any day, and furthermore it's not all that complicated, or thought provoking.
